I was born during WWII in France to Catalan refugee parents from Franco’s Civil War of 1936. A French citizen due to my birthplace, but unable to make music with most French people, I sailed away to America in my teens. There I found the freedom to study, to search, to love myself and others, and to become the person I am today.
After years of residency in the US, I became a naturalized American Citizen after the birth of my second son. Both of my sons were born in Hawaii and now live in the US. I feel blessed for having spent my productive years in Hawaii where I graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Master in European Languages and one in Public Health before working as a professional Gerontologist. In 2012, I retired in Spain, the land of my Catalan ancestors. Besides my family, my passions are dancing, writing and teaching: Sharing with others the many fascinating aspects of life as a caring and curious individual…I have been blessed to appreciate rich indigenous cultures as well as befriending people from all walks of life and from the four corners of the globe. One of these individuals, Nadia, my protagonist in So Close, is one such person. We have shared a strong and affectionate bond for a number of decades and she really is the heart of this tale.
