“The Raven” was first seen in 1845 among the pages in the “Evening Mirror” newspaper and quickly became popular. This narrative poem, part of the Romantic Gothic style, is the most powerful lyrical composition of Edgar Allan Poe for its elegant rhythm, its precise verb usage and its atmospheric structure. The story describes how, at midnight, a raven visits a lover desolated by the loss of his beloved, to accompany him to the depths of madness. The man hears a tapping at the window, but sees nothing there. The tapping insists, so he opens the window, and a raven enters. It perches on a bust of Pallas above the chamber door, and when the man engages it in conversation, it responds to his queries, repeating over and over again the word “Nevermore.”

Laura R. Naranjo (Sevilla, 1988). Puesto que desde pequeña no paraba de imaginar y dibujar, decidió hacer algo grande con ello. Así, se licenció en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Sevilla, estudiando los dos últimos años de licenciatura en Carrara, Italia (beca Erasmus), y en Barcelona (programa SICUE). Cursó el Máster en Arte: Idea y Producción, enfocado a la producción e investigación artística, orientando su futuro profesional al ámbito del diseño gráfico editorial y publicitario. La pasión que siente por los libros y su preparación académica hacen que conciba el arte como una herramienta de cambio social, capaz de transformar al individuo y al mundo. Desde 2014 trabaja para el grupo Lantia Publishing desempeñando labores de diseño, principalmente portadas y cubiertas de libros, para sellos como Caligrama (Penguin Random House), Universo de Letras (Planeta), Samarcanda, Guantanamera, Pentian, CLV Libros, EBL y mr. momo. De manera paralela ha desarrollado una intensa producción artística personal, participando en distintas exposiciones colectivas e individuales en su ciudad.
