Discover interesting details about the world and the lives of Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Degas, Caillebotte, Sisley, Berthe Morisot, Cézanne, Guillaumin, Gauguin, Manet, Van Gogh, etc. Someone once told me a quote that I’ve made my own: The anecdote is the meaning of things, which makes you understand and remember them.

Carlos Mengotti San José Marti was born in Arévalo (Spain) in 1943. His technical training in Industrial Engineering and Computer Science contrasts with his early interest in Impressionist painting, which led him to delve deeper into  the subject. In 1987 he participated  in the spanish TV contest “El Tiempo es Oro” where he defended his topic: Impressionism. Since his retirement,  he has been attending painting classes, to help him better understand the difficulties of Impressionist techniques. This long process has culminated in the publication of his book  Anecdotes of Impressionism.
