Tales from Senior Help

The stories in Simona Mihuțiu’s book resonate with us at any age—whether we’re 3 or 103—because emotion doesn’t take into account age, years, or time, but only love: for others, for something, for ourselves. I would never have expected to discover old age as a campfire, with the scent of linden tea and stories of healing broken souls. And it’s true, sometimes you hear a crackling in the background or a shooting star streaks across the sky, and then, yes, you do feel a chill run down your spine, because the unknown in the darkness can only be… full of chills,. However, this feeling passes quickly, and once you return to the soft glow of the fire, you begin to feel at home in your own life. Tales from Senior Help is a book to be read, not told, and I encourage you to do so. And more, I can’t resist giving you the best armchair from which to enjoy the reading—the one that offers the unique perspective Simona Mihuțiu brings with her elderly heroes: if you remove loneliness from the landscape of old age, everything becomes a great summer camp.
