León, a curious little boy, is on holidays in his grandmother’s house in Ireland. There he meets Seán the leprechaun, who has a crock of gold.

Seán goes to Madrid with León and meets Witchy, the cat, and Eala, the swan. Together they have many adventures, for example, The Battle of the Vaguada. Seán needs a place for his crock of gold so they paint the arches the colours of the rainbow. As well as painting them, they splash each other with the different colours and have great fun.

Seán, the leprechaun, and his friends León and Witchi, go to Palestine to
visit Seán’s cousins. On arrival, their excitement turns to shock as they
contemplate the devastation. They return home with the mission of collecting
money for the children of Palestine so they can live in peace and have normal
lives.
Young readers will feel a heartwarming and hopeful sensation as they see
Seán and León overcoming their fear and promising to carry out the wishes of
Seán’s uncle. Eala, the swan, and Wichi, the cat, bring magic and fantasy to
the story.

León’s birthday is going well until Witchi, the cat, appears with her present, a mouse. When Nana sees it, she gets such a fright she throws the birthday cake up in the air, while auntie Elisa jumps on the sofa screming. However, Seán, the leprechaun, and León’s little guests think it the best party they have ever been to.

At the end of the evening, Seán uses one of his gold coins to turn Grandad’s cane into Eala, the swan. Eala tells the children a story of how Cú Chulainn got his name and became the most famous warrior of The Red Branch Knights.
